This is the master agreement governing everyone's use of the Nelp platform. The central theme: Nelp is a TECHNOLOGY PLATFORM that connects people — it does not itself provide the services.
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and Nelp Inc. (“Nelp,” “we,” “us”), a corporation incorporated in Ontario, Canada. They govern your access to and use of the Nelp mobile application, website at nelp.co, and related services (together, the “Platform”). By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use the Platform.
Nelp operates a technology platform that connects people who need help with small local tasks (“Requesters”) with independent individuals willing to perform those tasks (“Helpers”). Nelp facilitates these connections; it does not perform tasks itself.
Nelp is NOT a party to the agreement between a Requester and a Helper for any task. That arrangement is directly between them.
Nelp does NOT employ Helpers and does not supervise, direct, or control how Helpers perform tasks.
Nelp does NOT guarantee the quality, safety, timing, or outcome of any task, though we take steps (like verification and ratings) to support trust on the Platform.
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract.
You must provide accurate information and keep your account credentials secure. You’re responsible for activity under your account.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe create risk to the community.
Requesters post tasks with a description, location, and price (a flat price for menu tasks, or a Requester-set offer for custom jobs).
Helpers may choose to accept available tasks. Acceptance creates an arrangement directly between the Requester and Helper.
Nelp may show suggested price ranges for custom jobs as a convenience; these are estimates only, not quotes or guarantees.
Payments are processed through our third-party payment processor e.g. Stripe. By using the Platform you also agree to the processor’s terms.
Nelp charges a service fee (currently 20% of the task price), retained from the amount paid. The remainder is paid to the Helper.
Prices are shown before booking. Taxes may apply. Refunds and cancellations are governed by our Cancellation Policy, incorporated by reference.
You agree not to: use the Platform for anything illegal; harass, harm, or discriminate against others; misrepresent yourself; circumvent the Platform to avoid fees; post false content; or attempt to disrupt or hack the Platform.
We use identity verification and background checks for Helpers as part of onboarding, but we do not guarantee any person’s identity, character, or conduct.
Requesters and Helpers are responsible for their own safety and for exercising judgment. Report concerns to feedback@nelp.co.
THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, Nelp disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that tasks will be performed to your satisfaction, that the Platform will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any Helper or Requester will fulfill their commitments.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Nelp will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any damages arising from the acts or omissions of Requesters or Helpers, or from any task performed or not performed. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the fees Nelp earned on the relevant task, or CAD $40.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Nelp from claims, damages, and expenses arising out of your use of the Platform, your tasks, your content, or your violation of these Terms or any law or third-party right.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there.
We may update these Terms; material changes will be notified, and continued use means acceptance.
We may suspend or end your access; you may stop using the Platform at any time.
